The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in 2024 jointly released a guideline on further promoting Action for Women's Employment and Entrepreneurship, which comprised three parallel actions to expand the channels of women's employment and entrepreneurship and ensure their high-quality and full employment.
The first parallel action is characterized with polishing women's brands and leveraging the exemplary functions of women role models. It is designed to promote the development women's businesses, and guide women role models in promoting women's employment and entrepreneurship through policy support, brand building and industrial chain development.
There are lots of such popular brands as Longjie Youpin (literal meaning Gansu Sisters' Premium Products, a fair organized by Gansu Women's Federation), Qiao Xifu (literal meaning Smart Daughters-in-Law, a food brand in East China's Shandong Province) and Beijiang Liangjie (literal meaning Beautiful Sisters of Northern Frontier, a domestic-service brand created by Inner Mongolia Women's Federation). Statistics show that women's federations at all levels have helped more than 1.5 million women find employment.
The second parallel action is characterized with building development promotion platforms and enhancing women's practical skills. Women's federations nationwide have followed the employment-first policies, organized special job fairs for girl college graduates, and established employment, entrepreneurship and internship bases to unleash the innovative and creative potentials of girl college graduates.
A series of special job fairs have been held to open a wide door for girl college graduates in their employment and entrepreneurship. For instance, Shanxi Women's Federation has organized entrepreneurship mentor teams to provide employment and entrepreneurship guidance services at 32 colleges and universities. Jilin Women's Federation and Jilin Women Entrepreneurs Association have organized mentor teams to provide one-on-one services to girl college students.
Shandong Women's Federation has rolled out the Young Phoenix Plan, organized 137 special job fairs, 188 thematic classes and 83 training sessions for girl college students, providing career planning and development as well as entrepreneurship guidance services to about 3.12 million people.
So far, women's federations at all levels have sponsored more than 9,800 special job fairs for girl college students and provided them with over one million employment opportunities.
The third parallel action is focused on organizing technical training, supporting women's flexible and informal employment and improving women's all-round abilities. Henan Women's Federation has organized training activities on how to become Internet marketers. Jiangsu Women's Federation has introduced the women livestreaming hosts training and empowerment plan and helped more than 10,000 people improve their professional knowledge and skills.
Under the leadership of women's federations nationwide, women have shown their unique strength in the entrepreneurship and innovation sectors and marched ahead on the new journey of advancing Chinese modernization with confidence and enthusiasm.
