Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), made an inspection tour to Xihe, a ACWF's designated pairing-up county in Longnan City, Northwest China's Gansu Province, on October 11-12, in a bid to implement the spirit of the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping, advance the Women's Action for Poverty Alleviation, and unite and guide women to contribute to high-quality poverty alleviation work. 

During her inspection tour to the big data center for poverty alleviation of Xihe County, Huang spoke highly of its statistical information relating to impoverished households. The supporting policies and measures to the registered impoverished households were displayed on the screen clearly and the gender-disaggregated statistics of the registered impoverished people and migrant workers were in place.

Noting the importance of learning about the impoverished people's basic information, Huang called for efforts to combine the big data with the work of the women's federations in a better way, learn about the current situation and needs of impoverished women, single mothers, women suffered from serious illnesses, disabled women and families with left-behind children and primary and secondary school students, and provide aid tailored to their needs.

Huang visited a local garment-making poverty-alleviation workshop and a hand knitting base, to learn about the employment of registered impoverished women and the product marketing.

Huang said that creating employment opportunities for impoverished women at their doorsteps 
to increase their income and better balance their work and family is a good solution to lift them out of poverty. 

Huang encouraged the development of women's poverty alleviation workshops and bases according to local conditions across the county and stressed improving product quality, enhancing market competitiveness and ensuring stable income increase for women in poverty.

Huang also inspected the work of poverty relief through boosting the consumption in the county, and she visited the ACWF's cadres who have served temporary positions and the poverty alleviation team members in Xihe, urging them to contribute to the county's battle against poverty.
