The Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund Information Session, and the coinciding 2025 New Year Reception of the House of Foreign-Aid Programs Trainees, was held on January 9, 2025, in Beijing. Huang Xiaowei, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Vice Chairperson of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council, attended. Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and Zhang Maoyu, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, also attended.

Huang delivered a speech, during which she noted Chinese President Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the development of women's cause, and Xi has elaborated on China's proposals on promoting gender equality and women's all-round development on many occasions, and such efforts have injected China's strength into the global cause of women's development.
Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) special envoy for the advancement of girls' and women's education, has made outstanding contributions to the promotion of girls' and women's education, Huang continued.
The Exchange and Training Base of Global Women's Development Cooperation was established by the CIDCA and the ACWF in 2024. The base has provided training for more than 180 people, from around 40 countries. The year 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, which was held in Beijing, in 1995. Xi has proposed the convening, in 2025, of another Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment. The ACWF is ready to work with all parties to make contributions to promoting women's all-round development, and to building a community with a shared future for mankind, Huang added.

Luo also delivered a speech. Luo noted Xi has announced, on many different occasions in 2024, the Chinese Government will provide around 200,000 training opportunities to other countries in the coming years. The CIDCA is making all-out efforts to make Xi's pledge a reality. In 2025, more than 2,000 training programs will be offered to more than 50,000 people, to help those individuals enhance their competence, and to promote China's friendly exchanges with other countries, Luo continued.
Barbados, Cuba and Uzbekistan's ambassadors to China, the representative from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Field Office in China, and some international trainees gave speeches. They spoke highly of China's Global Development Initiative, and they extended heartfelt gratitude to China for its foreign-aid programs.
The activity was hosted by the CIDCA, and it was organized by the Exchange and Training Base of Global Women's Development Cooperation, at China Women's University, which is affiliated with the ACWF. More than 200 people from over 40 countries, including international trainees, diplomatic envoys to China, representatives from international organizations in China, and representatives of relevant government departments and universities in China, also attended.
