Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Development Initiative (GDI) at the general debate of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 21, 2021. A year on, the GDI has been warmly received by the international community and more than 100 countries and international organizations, including the United Nations, have expressed support. Let's take a closer look at this initiative.
