The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) held two rounds of companionship service camp activities for over 60 Spring Bud girls in Xichang Minzu High School in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, from August 16 to 22.
The public welfare activities were also attended by nearly 50 volunteers aged between 18 and 55 from the Tencent Foundation and 12 contributors.
The activities consisted of four parts under the theme of having a correct self-appraisal, becoming courageous, striving for independence and pursuing benevolence.
The Spring Bud girls rediscovered themselves through singing and drawing pictures, had a deeper understanding of courage from their artistic performance, and wrote a new chapter for growth in collaboration with volunteers.
The Spring Bud girls were guided to have a positive understanding of their identity, share with others about their life and study, and release their inner emotions.
Additionally, volunteers paid home visits to the Spring Bud girls in three groups and became deeply impressed by their tenacious spirit.
"I used to have doubt about the existence of beauty and benevolence when I watched TV programs related to the public welfare activities in the past. It is incredible that these charity-minded brothers and sisters have visited me. I will strive to achieve my dream with the strength that hails from them," said a Spring Bud girl.
After the visit, many volunteers shared their experiences and feelings on social media.
