Beijiang Liangjie, a domestic-service brand created by Inner Mongolia Women's Federation, in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, gathers 131 women's domestic-service-alliance members, of which 93 are women's domestic-service enterprises, 26 are vocational-training institutions, and 12 are vocational colleges.
Integrating the advantages of the alliance's members, the federation, with 23,000 domestic-service professionals in the region, has promoted the high-quality development of the domestic-service industry in the autonomous region.
To promote standardized development of the domestic-service industry, and to improve the overall quality of domestic workers, Inner Mongolia Women's Federation implemented the first domestic-service standard in the autonomous region. This practice was selected as one of the prime examples of promoting standardized development of the domestic-service sector by the ACWF in 2023.
In all, Inner Mongolia Women's Federation has led alliance members in formulating four standards, including the code related to home-cleaning services, code of home-based-care services, code of maternal- and infant-care services, and basic requirements for the training of domestic-service enterprises.
These standards were officially implemented last year in Inner Mongolia. The federation printed 7,000 brochures and 12,000 pocket books for domestic workers to carry and study. To ensure residents have easy access to high-quality domestic services, Inner Mongolia Women's Federation established Beijiang Liangjie women's domestic-service platform in November 2023. The platform consists of an official website, three applications, three WeChat (a popular social media platform) mini-programs and a comprehensive management platform.
Six management regulations have been formed, to ensure only enterprises with standardized services, honest management, and domestic workers with integrity and relevant qualifications can register and use the platform.
In addition, publicity activities have been held in dozens of communities to promote the platform, and to create an atmosphere of "using Inner Mongolia people's own domestic-service platform when looking for domestic services, jobs and training."
Inner Mongolia Women's Federation has organized five women's domestic-service-vocational-skills competitions since 2012. During the second national women's domestic-service contest, in 2020, the Beijiang Liangjie delegation won second prize in the maternal- and infant-care category, and third prize in both the housekeeping and elder-care categories.
To cultivate professional high-quality domestic workers, Inner Mongolia Women's Federation has organized 37 training courses, at the regional level, during the past five years, and 1,765 trainees participated in the courses.
Women's federations, at all levels in the autonomous region, have helped train more than 90,000 people, by organizing more than 3,000 training courses. The federations have also helped more than 50,000 people find jobs in the domestic-service sector.
This year, the federations expect to train 10,000 people, and help 6,000 people increase their incomes by working in domestic-service industry.
Inner Mongolia Women's Federation has also organized domestic-service providers to offer free domestic services to seniors, in their 80s, who have difficulty getting around.
