China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) received an award of exemplary foundation of the year at the 2024 Charity Ceremony held in Beijing on June 26.
Guarding Childhood, Growing up Together, a public-welfare project of the CCTF, was named as the charity project of the year at the ceremony.
The awarding ceremony drew the attendance of people from the philanthropic and charitable sector. It unveiled winners of other categories as well.
In 2023, the CCTF pooled the strength of all social sectors in providing warm care and effective services to more than 6 million children and their families.
The award-winning project is launched by the CCTF in collaboration with the women's federations nationwide at all levels, colleges and universities and non-governmental organizations to recruit college and university students as volunteers and encourage them to build a paired assistance relationship with disadvantaged children in the hometowns during the summer and winter holidays. Volunteers are expected to send children gifts, organize cultural and sports activities, and accompany them to enjoy a happy and fulfilling holiday.
Since its establishment in 2019, the project has recruited over 4,000 volunteers, and the volunteers have served more than 20,000 children in 28 provincial-level regions.
