The Spring Bud: Aerospace and Dream-Building Project and the Building Bridge of Love Project won the awards for rural revitalization and special contributions respectively at the IFENG Action League 2024 Public Welfare Awards Ceremony in Beijing on November 26.
Themed "Cross-Border Development, Mutual Trust and Sustainability," the ceremony unveiled winners of 14 category awards, which included the Most Popular Award, the Top 10 Public Welfare Projects, the Top 10 Most Imaginative Projects, the Annual Top 10 Charitable Enterprises, the Annual Top 10 Charitable Figures, the Rural Revitalization Action Award and the Special Contributions Award.
In 2022, in response to the initiative launched by Professor Peng Liyuan, special envoy of Spring Bud Project to promote girls' education, to further implement the Spring Bud Project — Dream of Future Action, the CCTF and the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited (CASIC) jointly launched the Spring Bud: Aerospace and Dream-Building Project to extend assistance to in-need girls and their families in Dongchuan District of Kunming City and Fuyuan County of Qujing City in Southwest China's Yunnan Province.
During the past two years, the Spring Bud: Aerospace and Dream-Building Project has offered 600 high-school and college girl students financial assistance, built 36 girls' growth stations, held over 200 activities featuring sci-tech education, adolescent health education and mental health counseling services for girls, organized various kinds of study tours and invited girls to visit the CASIC and paired up with women sci-tech workers.
Additionally, the CCTF and the CASIC have launched an action to further enhance sci-tech literacy of girls.
So far, the Spring Bud: Aerospace and Dream-Building Project has benefited about 100,000 girls and families, improved the education, health and sci-tech literacy level of girls in beneficiary regions, and fostered women sci-tech workers for the promotion of rural revitalization.
The award-winning project Building Bridge of Love was jointly launched by the CCTF and Binzhou Shiping Foundation in 2023 to create a bright future for in-need children from Yunnan and other economically underdeveloped regions in a five-year period.
Right now, the project has completed the upgrading and renovation of buildings and facilities and the improvement of campus environment in 10 schools, provided about 1,200 students from primary and middle schools as well as junior vocational schools with education funds, distributed love package filled with hygiene products and other daily necessities among 5,000 adolescent girls, and held lectures on psychological and physiological health.
