The 2024 Guizhou Women's Handicraft Industry ("Jinxiu Program") Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition concluded recently in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou Province. The event triggered women's creativity and promoted highquality development of the women's handicraft industry in Guizhou.
To promote synchronous development of women's cause and the traditional ethnic handicraft industry, and to help more women find employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, Guizhou Women's Federation launched "Jinxiu Program" in July 2013.
During the past 11 years, the federation and relevant departments, including the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Guizhou Province and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guizhou Province, have taken measures, including implementing supportive policies, cultivating leading brands and providing financing services, to upgrade women's handicraft industry.
The Administration of Market Regulation of Guizhou Province allocated 117 million yuan (US $16.48 million) in subsidies to 2,680 micro-businesses in women's handicraft industry, and the businesses helped nearly 114, 000 women to find employment.
