 February 16, 2025

The third session of the sixth Chongqing Municipal People's Congress opened on January 19, in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

Chongqing Municipal People's Government noted, in its government work report, the government will build 24 "Yuhao Spaces" (service complexes for women and children) in 2025.

In 2024, development of "Yuhao Spaces" was recognized by the government as a major project for people's wellbeing.

"Yuhao Spaces" integrate service functions of community parent schools, women's homes, children's homes, parenting service stations, women and children's rights-protection service stations, women's volunteer service stations, and minors' protection service stations.

Twenty-four "Yuhao Spaces" were operational by August 2024. Combined, they had conducted more than 800 themed activities, and benefitted 25,000 children or women.

The government will continue building "Yuhao Spaces" this year. Construction of 24 more "Yuhao Spaces" is expected to be completed by the end of March.

The service complexes will provide targeted rights-protection services and counseling, psychological assistance, parenting education and guidance, childcare, and employment services to an estimated 100,000 women or children.
