A landslide hit Junlian County, in the city of Yibin, in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, on February 8.
Shortly after the incident, the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) mobilized China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) and China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF), to collaborate with local women's federations in supporting rescue and disaster-relief efforts.
Combined, CCTF and CWDF allocated more than 700,000 yuan (US $98,591) in funding and materials to address the urgent needs of women, children and families.
Money allocated by the agencies included 150,000 yuan (US $21,127) in emergency-relief funds for Sichuan, 120,000 yuan (US $16,901) worth of HELLO Kids emergency kits and "postal parcels for mothers," 250,000 yuan (US $35,211) worth of nutritional formula, and 200,000 yuan (US $28,169) worth of winter clothing.
The ACWF will stay in touch with local women's federations, to help people affected by the landslide as they overcome their difficulties.
