The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF), domestic tech giant Tencent and its affiliated Tencent Music Entertainment Group recently co-hosted the Spring Bud Camp on Enhancing Girls' Music Literacy in Chengdu, in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The music literacy camp drew the attendance of 40 Spring Bud girls from Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County of Southwest China's Yunnan Province and Sichuan's Xide County, three professional music instructors, and two music producers from Tencent Music. They jointly attended music training courses, conducted inspection tours to get some inspiration for music creation, and produced their own public welfare song.
At the closing ceremony of the camp, CCTF Secretary-General Li Zhongming said that the public welfare initiative bears great importance for the enhancement of Spring Bud girls' comprehensive qualities and the implementation of national rural revitalization strategy. He hoped the girls will pursue lofty ideals, be firm in their convictions, strengthen cultural confidence and personal will, cherish the time, study hard, make consistent efforts to improve their sci-tech and artistic literacy, pool strength from the love and caring of the Party, the country and the society toward self-development and the pursuit of benevolence, and strive to be talents in the building of the country as well as their hometown.
Under the companion of music producers, the girls paid a visit to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where they looked for music inspiration and incorporated what they had found into their music production on the basis of personal imagination and creativity.
Before the conclusion of the camp, the girls, together with the music instructors and music producers, recorded a public welfare song titled Buds in the Spring. It is expected that the song will be broadcast in Tencent Music Entertainment's three music platforms.
A Spring Bud girl said that she had made lots of new friends and had an unforgettable time during the camp. She added that it was the first time for her to know the entire production and recording procedures of a song.
Yang Yaoyan, a primary school teacher from Luquan, said that the camp had helped the girls better appreciate the beauty of music, bear in mind beautiful rhymes and memorable experience, and forged new strength for the realization of personal dream and self-growth.
In July 2021, the CCTF and Tencent jointly launched the Spring Bud Project — Dream of Future Action: Enhancing Girls' Sci-tech and Music Literacy initiative to provide Spring Bud girls with software and hardware support in the pursuit of their sci-tech and music dream.
According to the cooperation plan, Tencent Music Entertainment will help the CCTF over the organization of music training courses, Spring Bud chorus camps and relevant performance activities in a drive to help the girls make large strides in the improvement of their music aesthetics and artistic vision, express themselves in the creation of music and artistic products, and gain new strength from music.
