This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the 10th anniversary of the implementation of nationwide campaign titled Looking for the Most Beautiful Families. A special TV program, titled Building Harmonious and Beautiful Families and Embarking on a Journey of Happiness, was concurrently aired on the China Central Television (CCTV)-3 and the China Media Group (CMG) Mobile on October 2.
Jointly produced by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the CMG, the thematic TV program has covered the stories of role-model families, their happy moments and fine family traditions in the celebration of the75th founding anniversary of the PRC.
The families in the special TV program include Chu Lijuan and her daughter Chen Yujia, who are dedicated to safeguarding the country's food security and promoting rural revitalization, Hou Dongmei's family, who is committed to inheriting and carrying forward fine traditional Chinese culture, Chinese national table tennis team, which has brought back home lots of trophies and titles and promoted the spirit of the Chinese sports, Anipa Alimahong's family, who is known for hard work, strong will and the adherence to ethnic unity, families of Wang Yaping and Zhang Lu, both of whom are Chinese astronauts.
They are the epitome of families honored in the campaign and their family stories have vividly expounded new family civilization and trends, which feature the love of the country and family, mutual support and love between family members, the pursuit of development and benevolence, joint building for shared benefit.
The TV program has gone viral, met positive response and garnered lots of likes from the public.
"I am deeply touched by the TV program. Families are the solid foundation of national stability and their security heavily relies on national protection. In the next step, I will continue with the implementation of the campaign and take utmost efforts to expand its social influences and nurture more beautiful families," said Dai Weiwei, President of Xiqing Women's Federation in North China's Tianjin Municipality.
Ayixiamuguli Rexiti, President of Hotan Women's Federation in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, said that the stories behind each family are filled with love and warmth and that they have used their concrete actions to underscore the interrelations between the country and the family.
Ye Wenzhen, Vice-President of the Chinese Women's Research Society (CWRS), part-time professor and PhD supervisor at Xiamen University, said that it is very meaningful for the TV program to help the public learn more about role-model families, invite ordinary people to share with others about their family building, and bring the public together to engage in inspiration and reflection with its special narration methods and publicity channels.
Yang Juhua, member of the CWRS Council, professor and PhD supervisor at Minzu University of China, said that the stories behind role-model families share such common values and goals as the integration of personal and family dream with national dream, hard work, pioneering spirit and progress.
