China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and B' in Music Cultural Media (Beijing) Co., Ltd jointly held a study tour for 10 girls in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei Province, from September 6 to 8.

The girls came from the Central Primary School of Dongxin Township in Hubei's Dawu County. The three-day study tour provided them an opportunity to better appreciate splendid Chinese civilization, acquire more knowledge and explore the world.

Visiting Yellow Crane Tower, Yangtze River

The study tour brought the girls to the Yellow Crane Tower, a classical ancient architecture in Wuhan, which left a deep impression on them. A tour guide spoke with them about the landmark architecture's origin and history and led them to ascend to its top to enjoy the beauty of the Yangtze River.

They also took a tourist ship to admire nighttime view of the Yangtze River and Wuhan.

"There are only riverlets in my hometown. It is the first time for me to see such a magnificent river in my life. I want to keep it in my memory to remind myself to study hard and bring my family to visit Wuhan someday," said a girl, who lives with her grandparents. Her father passed away and her mother works away from home to support the family. She said her dream is to study at Wuhan University and lead the family to live a better life.

Admiring Cultural Heritage

Hubei Provincial Museum is a major site to conduct research and exhibit the culture of the Chu State during the Warring States Period (475-221BC).

The girls were captivated by the exhibited cultural relics, which helped them grasp a deep understanding of profound Chinese history and culture. They also admired the wisdom and the spirit of craftsmanship of ancient Chinese people.

Teachers there explained to them about the historical background and workmanship behind those valuable cultural relics.

"I only saw cultural relics in my textbooks. This time, I finally have an opportunity to closely watch them. The sword of ancient King Goujian has left a deep impression on me," said a girl.

The girls also visited Hubei Science and Technology Museum and the 1911 Revolution Museum to learn more about modern technologies and historical stories, further expanding personal horizon and gaining new strength to pursue their dream.

Inspired by Prominent Figures' Stories

During their visit to Wuhan University, the girls toured around the campus, posed for photos with historical architectures, and listened to the inspiring stories of prominent figures like renowned scholar and poet Wen Yiduo (1899-1946), famous Chinese geologist Li Siguang (1889-1971).

"The visit to Wuhan University has helped me further realize the strength of knowledge. My dream is to study there, become an engineer, and build bridges as well as roads for my hometown," said a girl. Like her, many other girls also talked about their dream.

They became deeply attracted by numerous cultural relics and latest research results in Wuhan University's Wanlin Art Museum and the History Hall of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Such an experience helped them not only acquire rich knowledge but also better feel the strength of education and look forward to a bright future.

Pooling Strength from Music

The study tour also brought the girls to a music concert held by Taiwan rock band Mayday in Wuhan.

It was the first time for many of them to attend a concert. Just like many others in the audience, they waved their glow sticks and danced to the rhythm of the music.

"The study tour has guided the girls to explore the unknown world and solve specific problems using scientific thinking and methods, it helped them find creativity in daily life, and left a colorful chapter in their growth journey. They are expected to become more creative, strive for better academic performance, and develop a good personality," said one of the teachers in the Central Primary School, adding that the event will stimulate attendees to unleash their potential and encourage them to thrive in the face of adversity.
