CCTF, Adidas Present Scholarship to Vocational School Students in Shandong

A scholarship distribution ceremony for the public welfare project titled Achieving Dream of Future with Infinite Possibilities was jointly held by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF), Adidas Sports (China) Co., Ltd. and Shandong Women's Federation in Dezhou Vocational and Technical College, in Dezhou, a city in East China's Shandong Province on March 27.

The ceremony was organized by Shandong Women and Children's Development Foundation and Dezhou Women's Federation.

Deputy Secretary-General of the CCTF Wang Haijing, Vice-President of Shandong Women's Federation Li Li, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Dezhou Committee Zhang Zhihua, vice-president of Governmental Affairs Department in Adidas' Greater China region Wang Ruohai, and representatives of local teachers as well as beneficiary students, attended the event. It was presided over by President of Dezhou Women's Federation Liu Fang.


The CCTF and Adidas jointly made a donation of 600,000 yuan (US $84,507) to 100 girl students in need majoring in digital science and technology subjects. Attending guests also sent to them schoolbags, books titled Century Masters and other learning materials.

Wang Haijing said that with the support of the Party committees and governments at all levels as well as the women's federations, the project has provided 11 women's sports teams in seven provincial regions with financial aids and distributed scholarships among 1,211 children in difficulty and 200 girls who are receiving vocational education, playing a positive role in improving the environment for the development of women's sports, promoting the development of education and fostering a sound social environment for children's healthy growth. She hoped the students cherish valuable opportunities, study hard and pursue dreams on the journey ahead.

Wang Ruohai said that Adidas will continue with its partnership with the CCTF to create more opportunities for children and teenagers and encourage them to realize dreams and embrace a bright future.


Li said that the project has brought warmth and strength to students in need in Shandong and firmed up their will in the pursuit of personal dream. She noted that Shandong Women's Federation will give full play to the roles of Shandong Women and Children's Development Foundation, and help ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

Zhang said that the implementation of the project in Dezhou will not only help girl students complete their vocational education but also raise the public awareness of vocational education, channel more social attention to girls in difficulty and provide them with assistance in embracing a bright future.

After the ceremony, Lu Fang, chief expert on digital education with South China Institute of Talent Development and professor with South China University of Technology, gave a lecture on career plan for vocational students in the AI era.

On the same day, attending guests also visited the families of beneficiary students, presented subsidies and daily necessities to them, and encouraged them to strive for better lives.

The project was launched by the CCTF and Adidas in September 2023 to promote the healthy growth of Chinese children and strengthen friendly exchanges among children at home and abroad. Adidas donated 10 million yuan (US $1.41 million) in 2023 to support women's sports teams, children in difficulty, and girl students in vocational education, and organize sports training camps, children exchanges and social practice activities.

Last year, the project was named the Outstanding Public Welfare Project of the Year by China Philanthropist magazine.
