The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) hosted a conference to mark the establishment of the project team, which will conduct the Fourth Wave Survey on the Social Status of Women in China in 2020. The event was held in Beijing on June 2. Tan Lin, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of ACWF, spoke during the meeting.
Other participants included more than 100 people, including officials of ACWF, NBS, universities and research institutes in different regions of the country.
Tan stressed researchers should conduct more research into how the Chinese Government can solve problems that affect women's development, and how the government can promote women's development, while the country promotes its economic and social development.
The participants discussed how to conduct studies into nine aspects of women's lives, such as health, education, economy and politics, during the survey. The results of the survey will be released in the latter half of 2020 in Beijing. The ACWF and NBS organized the nationwide decennial survey. Previous surveys were conducted in 1990, 2000 and 2010.
