China has made remarkable progress over the past 70 years and will likely obtain greater success, said diplomats visiting an exhibition in Beijing on Wednesday.
The exhibition, set up at the Beijing Exhibition Center, shows in chronological order the country's development since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 in areas including science, education, healthcare, defense and diplomacy.

"I think it's a beautifully curated exhibition," Hashmi said. "It gives you a very good idea of the history and of the development strategy of China, and opens a very strong window of where China is going in its development."
Russian Ambassador Andrey Denisov said the exhibition is "very interesting," and shows the lives of ordinary Chinese people as well as decisions made by the country's leadership.
"I hope I will come to visit again, take my time in appreciating the exhibition and to have a deeper understanding of the 70-year history of China," he said.

Denisov said he used to work in Beijing in the late 1970s as China began its reform and opening-up, and there has been "tremendous progress" since then.
Noting that he will attend a series of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the PRC, the Russian ambassador said he is sure China will enjoy greater progress.
Eoin O'Leary, the Irish ambassador to China, said he welcomes the fact that China is opening up to the world.
Mentioning China's economic growth and the efforts it has made to tackle poverty, O'Leary said: "I think it's hard not to be optimistic about China's future when you see the progress that's been made so far."

Speaking of the achievements showcased in the exhibition, the Irish ambassador said he was impressed by "the way in rural areas people were invested in literacy."
Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, United Arab Emirates ambassador to China, said he encourages people to visit the exhibition to witness China's transition over the past seven decades and understand where the country is currently and where it's going.
"Every picture, every image speaks more than 1,000 words," he said. "It's really remarkable what we have seen today."
