CWU Flag Group Win First Prize in Sixth "Honor Guard Competition"
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World's Anti-Fascism War, organizers held the sixth season of the honor guard competition for the capital's college students at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA).
The event was organized by Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, Beijing Association of Defense Education and undertaken by BUAA and Beijing Vocational College of Labor and Social Security. A total of 26 colleges and universities, including China Women's University(CWU), participated in the competition.
The competition exhibited the lowering and raising of a flag. 18 CWU flag group students competed. Their meticulous marching and clangorous slogans wowed judges and other participators.
Our participants were all new members of the flag group and they trained hard during the summer vacation in order to claim first prize.
After the competition, students from CWU, Tsinghua University, and Beijing University of Chemical Technology conducted other demonstrations. The judges praised CWU's performance and regarded CWU as a fine example among women's universities.
