CWU Hosts 13th 'Listening to Your Heart, Talking about Growth, Date with a President' Event
On October 19, the 13th "Listening to Your Heart, Talking about Growth—Date with President" senior staff discussion event was held at the north campus of China Women's University (CWU). Song Shengju, vice-president of the university, took part in the talk with 30 freshmen from different schools and departments.
During the meeting, Song shared her own learning experiences with students, and expressed high hopes for the freshman's all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics, and labor education. Song also asked students to strengthen their self-management, be down-to-earth, reach their goals, and overcome difficulties with a positive attitude.
During nearly three hours' of discussion, Song explained several topics that attracted students' special attention in detail, including college students' enterprise and innovation education; student safety and self-protection; and, student internships. She pointed out that students should develop the innovation consciousness, improve the innovation ability, and dare to put these concepts into practice. At the same time, they must strengthen their safety consciousness, especially the female students, who should improve their self-protection awareness and prevention capacity, she said.
Song also emphasized that students should ensure a sustainable development of the general course and specialized course, and read the best books from the perspective of research.
Focusing on freshmen' confusion on campus life, Song made suggestions on students' learning skills, the orientation of professional development, and helped freshmen to adapt to the campus life better and faster.
At the end of the activity, Song gave presentation bags to attendees. Teachers from the Students' Affairs Office of the north campus also participated in the event.
