CWU Holds Symposium for Contempo Scholarship Students
On October 15, accompanied by Kong Wen, staff member from China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF), Tan Jun, from the Shanghai office of Contempo Charity Foundation Ltd (CCFL), participated in a symposium at China Women's University (CWU).
During the meeting, students in receipt of scholarships from the charity talked about their perceptions of individual learning, social practice, volunteer services, and career planning. They thanked Contempo for its care and help.
Meanwhile, Tan encouraged the students to believe in themselves, take full advantage of their toughness and tolerance, cherish the opportunities they have been given, make full use of various resources to improve themselves, and pay back to society in the future.
Contempo set up a scholarship scheme to finance and inspire CWU students from poor families. Since 2001, it has helped nearly 100 students with financial difficulties to finish their studies smoothly. Aid-receiving students have consciously blended the concepts of gratitude, service and social consciousness into their studies and work.
This symposium strengthened mutual understanding and friendships between the aid-receiving students and the donor, and further promoted their personal growth and development.
