CWU Holds Ethics Training Course for Archivists
On October 22, General Office of China Women's University(CWU), Personnel Department, and Publicity Department co-sponsored a special training course for archivists and office directors.
Accompanied by 30 teachers from the CWU office system, president Liu Liqun went to the Red Flag Canal Executive Leadership Academy (RFCELA) in Henan Province.
The course focused on "Carrying Forward the 'Red Flag Canal Spirit', and Fulfilling the Three Stricts, Three Steadies'". It aimed to guide and motivate the office directors and archivists to be loyal to the party's education career, strive to fulfill the "Three Stricts, Three Steadies", constantly improve their ethics, better serve CWU's personnel training goal, and fulfill reform and development tasks.
Zhou Xiang, the executive vice-president of the RFCELA, the Standing Committee of the Linzhou municipal party committee and minister of organization department delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He introduced the building process, historical significance of the red flag canal, and the basic situation of Linzhou city and the academy. He also thanked CWU for providing the opportunity, and hoped that the two schools could further strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
Around the questions of "training for what?", "why train this team?" and "why choose RFCELA for training?", Liu Liqun emphasized the importance of the session, and asked all of the staff to recognize their own identities, cherish the training opportunity, pay attention to study and thinking, and strive to put their skills into practice.
Liu also hoped that this team would play a positive role in the school's development. Director of general office, Zhao Hao presided over the opening ceremony.
The red flag canal was built in the 60s and the main channel was completed in 1965. The main canal is 71 kilometers long, and the irrigation system is claimed to have a total length of 1,500 kilometers. It was dug entirely by manual labor and was known as "manmade river in heaven" and "today's Great Wall".
It irrigated the fields of the Linzhou district, and came to symbolize the spirit of "self-reliance, hard work, solidarity, collaboration and selfless dedication". It became the power source for Linzhou's people to overcome difficulties generation after generation.
Along the way, trainees visited the red flag canal memorial hall, youth memorial hall, Gu Wenchang's former residence, and the pole carrying spirit memorial hall. They also listened to the touching stories of the red flag canal model workers, watched a drama and documentary called "The Red Flag Canal" and a TV interview on "Towering Mountain Cup—Yang Gui".
Chen Xiaoping, principal of Anyang Communist Party School, gave a thematic lecture of "Carry Forward the 'Red Flag Canal Spirit', Fulfill the 'Three Stricts, Three Steadies'". She illustrated the profound connotation and practical significance of the Red Flag Canal Spirit with rich historical materials and vivid case studies. The trainees deepened their understanding of the "Three Stricts, Three Steadies", and completely reviewed their own responsibilities.
During the summary, trainees from different departments spoke enthusiastically and talked with each other about their training experiences. In the four days of training, trainees studied in the form of lectures, visits, experiences, discussions, and singing. They deeply understood the importance of learning and carrying forward the red flag canal spirit, and were moved and inspired by the hero's spirits of hard work and fearlessness.
The trainees said that they would absorb and inherit the Red Flag Canal Spirit, and internalize it into a powerful spiritual motivation and conscious action. They would also keep the faith, improve the work style, and strive to bring the "Three Stricts, Three Steadies" and advanced educational ideas into overall work.
CWU will conduct an in-depth education of "Three Stricts, Three Steadies", deepen comprehensive reform, and launch the career development planning proposed in the Thirteenth Five-Year plan. CWU is making great efforts to build itself into the top level women's university.
