CWU Council Holds Seminar on Spirit of 5th Plenary Session of 18th CPCCC

On November 3, Li Mingshun, the Chairperson of China Women's University (CWU) Council, organized an event for all members of CWU Party Committee to learn about the conference spirit of the recent Fifth Plenary Session of 18th CPC Central Committee.

Liu Liqun, CWU President and deputy secretary of the CWU Council,  as well as directors from the Management Department, Publicity Department, and the Disciplinary Committee Office also attended the event.

Li briefly introduced the main focus of the CPC meeting. He said that the meeting was an important event in China's runoff stage before finishing the goal of building a moderately prosperous society. It is of great realistic and historical significance in developing the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, fulfilling the Two Centenary Goals, and realizing the Chinese Dream of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, said Li.

Li added that it was of far-reaching significance for attendees to grasp and produce research under the new historical conditions of the ideological and political work methods. He added that they should study and implement the spirit of the meeting. The university would timely make special arrangement for deployment of the ideas set out during the session.

Li said that, firstly, it was important to study and completely understand the spiritual essence of the meeting. Each of General Party Branches and directly affiliated Party branches should immediately organize civil servants to study the spirit of meeting, and carry out various publicity activities so as to fully comprehend the policies. At the same time, it is important to use the policies to unify their thoughts, guide practices and promote work done, explained Li.

Secondly, he said that China's economic development has entered a new normal phase, meaning attendees must adopt to a new mindset to promote the university's overall development. They should accurately grasp the development concept of "innovation, coordination, green, open, and sharing" which was put forward at the meeting. It is also important to deepen the comprehensive reform, promote the university's balanced, inclusive and sustainable development, Li said.

Thirdly, strengthening Party self-discipline, and paying continuous attention to team construction is important, Li determined. Civil servants are the important guarantees for realizing the university's development goals. CWU is carrying out its eighth civil servant employment activity at present. Officials should strictly choose, use, and manage the civil servants under the direction of the CPC Central Committee documents.

Fourthly, completing the university's 13th five year plan of career development according to its actual situation is important, said Li. Attendees should combine the spirit of the meeting with CWU's actual situation, guide the campus work with this spirit, and promote the progress of each work objective according to president Xi's series of important instructions.

During the meeting, the participants collectively studied the request of the All-China Women's Federation on following the spirit of the meeting, and looked at a series of reports on the fifth plenary session bulletin which were interpreted by experts and scholars from People's Daily Online. The university will also purchase related guidance books for all the faculty members, and hire experts to interpret the spirit of the meeting in the near future.
