CWU Wins 2015 National Outstanding Project Office Award
The Central Committee of the Communist Youth League issued a report on praising the "outstanding counties and project management offices in the plan of university students voluntarily serving west China in 2015". China Women's University (CWU) won the title of Outstanding Project Management Office together with seven other units. CWU had previously won the title for three consecutive years.
Since the plan's launch, the university has taken it into practice, systematically implementing the work of publicity, enrollment, and service. In order to provide comprehensive safeguards for volunteers and the recommend elites for serving west China, the university selected six students for the construction of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Tibet Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Shanxi, and Yunnan Province in 2015. There have been 107 outstanding graduates who abandoned the superior living and working conditions for the construction of western areas and to help in grassroots regions.
In future, the CWU Council will further cooperate with the national project office and do a better job in the daily management and subsequent training of the volunteers. They will also strive to improve policies, perfect working mechanisms, strengthen the management service, and continuously promote the plan of serving the west, said organizers.
