CWU Awarded at National College Students' Dance Performance
In order to encourage more original dance works in higher education institutes, Shanghai Dancers' Association and Shanghai Normal University, authorized by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education and Health and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, staged a National College Students Dance Performance on December 19, 2015.
A total of 22 dancing groups from Shanghai University, Shanghai Normal University, Wenzhou University and other colleges took part in the competition.
Two original works -- "The Red Skirts Under the Sun" and "Xing Lu"---by students from China Women's University (CWU) won silver and bronze awards respectively. In addition, two CWU teachers, Ying Li, from the School of Arts, and Zhang Hua, from the Youth League Committee, were awarded as Outstanding Instructors at the event.
In order to ensure a memorable display, students of the CWU's dancing group overcame a series of difficulties, such as long hours' training, injuries, and pressure. But all of them believed that the road to the success only depended on time and hard efforts. As one dance member said in her acceptance speech, "I will persist in dancing forever, even if I am not the best one."
The competition provided an opportunity for students to communicate with their peers from other universities nationwide, and also laid a good foundation from the perspectives of vision and experience for their future games. At the same time, students' innovation allowed viewers to feel full of strength and hope through their excellent performances.
