CWU Gender, Social Development School Holds New Year Gala
With the theme of "Joining Hands with Youth, Chasing the Dream", the Gender and Social Development School of China Women's University (CWU) held its New Year gala at the university's auditorium on January 5.
Leaders from the school's party and executive department, teachers from the functional departments and North Campus, and teachers and students from across CWU gathered together to celebrate New Year's Day.
Dancers opened the show with an enthusiastic and dynamic performance of "Sunny Girl". Zhu Dongwu, dean of the school, made a New Year speech, and extended her greetings to the faculty members and hard-working students. Other teachers and students also sent their New Year's messages on video.
During the festival, teacher Luo Huilan and two others fully showed their talent for music with an accordion performance of "The Young Girl Polka". From the perspective of gender, women studies majors elaborately arranged a stage play of "Once Upon a Time", which broke with the traditional images of women, fully showed the students' imagination and creativity, and left audiences roaring with laughter.
Afterward, a poetry recital of "Youth of China" showed the Chinese people's spirit, and demonstrated the responsibility of youth students in modern society. A performance of "Social Workers" by social work majors delivered the spirit of kindness, the courage to practice, and the will to deliver good services. Other performances of a Chinese traditional Han fashion show, and medleys of songs and dances showed the 90s-born generations' talents and spirituality. The festival ended with a chorus of "Hello, Tomorrow".
