CWU Trade Union Holds Award Ceremony

The Trade Union of China Women's University (CWU) held its work conference at the auditorium on January 20. Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council; CWU president Liu Liqun; presidents and committee members of the Trade Union Branches; directors from the functional department; and, some 100 outstanding educators participated in the event presided over by Zhao Yanping, executive vice-president of the Trade Union.

During the meeting, Zhao announced the CWU Council's recognition decisions on Advanced Trade Union Branches, and Outstanding Union Cadres; and, the Trade Union Committee's decisions on Advanced Workers' Home and Advanced Individuals in constructing a "harmonious home".

CWU leaders issued certificates to all the winners, and awarded trophies and medals to the teachers who got the title of Five-Virtue Family, and silver in the 9th Basic Skills Competition for Young Teachers in Beijing. Zhao specially issued certificates for three teachers who got prizes in the basic skills competition with their theses.

During the exchange seminar, Ning Ling, dean of the Computer Department; Zhao Baozhen, who received the award for Best Trade Union Construction; Zhang Xia, union president of the School of Management, shared their own experience in building a "harmonious home", and carrying forward the spirit of the Trade Union.

Li delivered a concluding remark, fully affirmed the Trade Union's efforts in 2015, congratulated the awarded units and individuals, and thanked the teachers' efforts for sharing.

Focused on this year's work, Li emphasized that the Union cadres should straighten out their job relation, clarify terms of reference, and strengthen the leadership of the party; make clear the core of services and protect the legitimate rights and interests of members; and, improve the effectiveness of the Trade Union, and continue to play its role as a bridge.
