CWU Leaders Visit Professor Ge
On the eve of International Women's Day (March 8), Liu Liqun, president of China Women's University (CWU) visited Ge Lan, a famous former Chinese TV announcer and distinguished CWU professor.
Liu spoke highly of Ge's contribution in opening and building the CWU Broadcasting and Hosting Department, and thanked Ge for her achievements in CWU talent-cultivation for 16 years. Taking fully advantage of the Ge Lan Studio, Liu hoped to build CWU School of Culture and Communication into a professional, renowned brand.
Ge Lan, a pioneer graduate from CWU, was one of the first generation of announcers in China. She retired from CNR (China National Radio) in 1991, and began to teach in CWU soon after.
In order to further develop Ge's effects, deepen talent cultivation reforms, improve professional academic research levels, and expand the influence of Broadcasting and Hosting Department and CWU, the decision-makers set up the Ge Lan Research Center for Broadcasting Art in March 2015.
