CWU Delegates Visit Beijing Forestry Uni
Wang Lian, vice-president of China Women's University (CWU) led some 14 teachers from the General Office, Quality Supervision Office, Teaching Affairs Office, and other functional departments to visit Beijing Forestry University (BFU) on April 11.
Luo Youqing, vice-president of BFU, presided over a seminar on evaluation work and the quality guarantee system of undergraduate education. Attendees also included directors from BFU's Teaching Affairs Office, Recruitment and Employment Office, Teaching Quality Supervisor Center, Student Affairs Office, School of Foreign Languages, College of Information Science and Technology, Art School, and School of Economics and Management.
Luo warmly welcomed the visitors, introduced the history, teaching situation, and basic situation of evaluation work at BFU. He also laid out several suggestions on how to grasp the motivation and effects of evaluation work, and how to concisely sum up the university's characteristics.
Focused on three phases of preparation, self-assessment, and formal inspection, Yu Zhiming, director of the BFU Teaching Affairs Office, analyzed the similarities and differences between this year's evaluation criteria and before. He also outlined the examinations, the methods to complete the summary report on undergraduate education, and self-assessment reports, and the methods to collect supporting materials. Yu also shared his opinions on the evaluation work.
During the event, in accordance with their specific work, the two sides further discussed teaching practice, college students' entrepreneurship, development of students, the quality guarantee system of teaching, and other questions related to evaluation work.
Wang Lian sincerely thanked BFU's enthusiasm, and pointed out that the visit had made them realize the central role of talent cultivation, the importances of connotation construction and characteristics development. CWU would learn from the successful experiences of Beijing Forestry University, strive to promote evaluation work, and improve the quality of talent-cultivation according to the university's actual situation, Wang added.
