CWU Holds 2016 Work Conference on Sports

China Women's University (CWU) held its 2016 sports work conference on April 8. Wang Lian, director of the CWU Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CPCS) and CWU vice-president, participated in the conference.

Ma Liang, director of the Physical Education Department, briefly reviewed their main achievements in 2015, laid out their ongoing work, and reported data analysis of students' general physical health and sports events organized in 2015. Director from CWU's Trade Union summarized sports work for faculty members in 2015. Members from CWU CPCS discussed their specific work, and put forward some guidance and advice for the future.

Wang fully affirmed CWU's achievements in sports, and highlighted three bright points, including curriculum reform, group activities, and competitions. She said that CWU could only have obtained these achievements and completed CWU's 12th Five-Year Plan with teachers' efforts and support.

Wang also asked CPCS members to clarify their obligations, actively devote effort to the planning and implementation of sports work, and mobilize more students to attend physical activities.

After the meeting, participants took part in a long-distance run, and were well aware of the necessity to improve students' fitness. They hoped that students could develop the exercise habit, gradually intensify concept of "Exercising One Hour a Day, Enjoying Happiness a Lifetime."
