CWU's Women Studies Faculty Hosts Homecoming Day
The Women Studies Faculty of China Women's University (CWU) held a reunion event for its 1987 graduates on May 20. CWU president Liu Liqun, and former president Zhang Lixi participated in the gathering.
Directors and teachers from the general office and Women Studies Faculty, and, some 20 alumni attended the event, which was presided over by Zhou Zhihui, secretary of the general Party branch of the Women Studies Faculty.
On behalf of CWU's leaders and teachers, Liu warmly welcomed the alumni and congratulated them for all they've achieved. Liu introduced CWU's development situation from the perspective of talent cultivation, international and domestic influence, and teaching quality. She thanked the alumni for their outstanding achievements and positive dedication to the university, and hoped that they could propose valuable advice for CWU's development.
Zhang shared her life and work at the CWU, recalling the alumni's memory of campus life. She pointed out that CWU has upheld the motto of "Virtus, Caritas, Scientia and Cultura" while developing students' professional skills, adhering to the values of self-respect, self-confidence, self-support and self-improvement, and formed a proper philosophy as well as values and social outlook towards life. Zhang encouraged students remaining on campus to learn from the seniors, continuously carry forward the CWU's spirit, and keep pace with the time.
Alumni representatives shared their experiences, expressed their gratitude toward CWU, and said that they were amazed by the university's rapid development. The alumni actively communicated with the juniors, carefully answered juniors' questions, and encouraged them to stay positive, diligence, and gratitude, strive to develop their own quality, and create a better future.
After the meeting, the alumni visited the whole campus and the China Women and Gender Library, and expressed their best wishes to the development of CWU.
