CWU Honors Winners of Its 'Youth Medals'
In order to commemorate the 97th anniversary of China's May 4th Movement, China Women's University (CWU) held an awards ceremony for its outstanding units and individuals on the same day.
Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council, attended the event, and gave a lecture. Directors from the Organization Department, Student Affairs Office, and the Youth League Committee, and, secretaries from different General Party Branches and General Youth League Branches participated in the meeting, and gave awards for the outstanding units and individuals. Han Yan, secretary of the CWU Youth League Committee (YLC), presided over the event.
During the gathering, Han announced the YLC's decisions on praising "Outstanding May 4th Youth League Branches", "Outstanding Youth League Cadres and Members", "Outstanding Volunteers, Voluntary Service Projects and Advanced Units", and, "CWU Winners in Beijing Dance Festival for College Students".
The organizers also praised outstanding units and individuals who received state-level, Beijing city-level, and CWU awards in 2015. All the winners shared their experiences and communicated with each other at the event.
On behalf of the CWU Council, Li greeted all the teachers and students, and congratulated the winners of advanced units and individuals. While affirming the YLC's great achievements in 2015, Li noted that all the participants should consistently develop their patriotism, study hard, take knowledge into practices, and persevere in serving the community.
On the occasion of the conscription, Li encouraged more students to actively respond to the call of Chinese government, and enthusiastically join the army.
The event aimed to review the past year, and carry forward the spirit of the May 4th Movement, incorporating patriotism, democracy, science, creativity and struggle, organizers said.
