CWU Holds Symposium on 13th Five-Year Plan
China's President Xi Jinping delivered instructions on the country's national education campaign in February earlier this year, which focuses on increasing studies in the CPC, as well as supervising Party members to be self-disciplined.
In order to thoroughly implement Xi's instructions, China Women's University (CWU) held a symposium on its 13th Five-Year Plan on May 14, under the theme of "Implementing the Advanced Approach of Development, Scientifically Arranging CWU's 13th Five-Year Plan". Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council, presided over the event.
Hu Jiulong, deputy director of the Policy Research Office at the Beijing Municipal Government, delivered a speech on "The Key Concept and Major Strategy of China's 13th Five-Year Plan". Hu laid out the contents of China's latest Five-Year Plan, including instructions on the "Chinese Dream", the "new normal" state featuring characteristics of the current development phase of the Chinese economy, five major development philosophies, and Chinese structural reform of the supply front.
In addition, Hu illustrated several major strategies including the Belt and Road Initiative, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei collaborative development, and the Yangtze River Economic Zone.
Li emphasized the importance of the education campaign, and put forward several specific suggestions on CWU's development. He hoped that the participants could free their minds, deepen their knowledge on CWU's 13th Five-Year Plan, and strive to promote CWU's development.
School leaders should think and act in conformity with CWU's outline of the educational development program, and promote CWU's construction based on Beijing's orientation. Meanwhile, staff should work hard to fulfill CWU's Five-Year Plan, deepen educational reform, improve teaching quality, and build the CWU into a top women's university, Li added.
The event was jointly hosted by CWU's Publicity Department, Student Affairs Office, and Ideological and Political Department.
All the members of the standing committee of the CWU Council, members of the secondary central group of the Party Committee, part of leading group members of the 13th Five-Year Plan, and some teachers and students participated in the event.
