CWU Students Attend ACWF's Poetry Reading
The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Youth League Committee held a poetry reading on May 26, under the theme of "Party in My Heart". Some 20 members from the ACWF State-owned Youth Federation, Youth League Committee, and affiliated institutes participated in the event. Over 50 CWU teachers and students were invited to attend the performance.
The event aimed to mark the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the 80th anniversary of the Red Army, and the 97th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement.
Students from the CWU's School of Culture and Communication performed a recitation of life of Qiu Jin, an outstanding female revolutionist and a forerunner of the women's liberation movement in modern society. Their sincere emotion, fine acting, and professional skills received high praise from the audience. Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCFA) introduced the performance. CWU's performance "Forever Kelsang Metok" told a touching story of female soldiers, who devoted their lives and youth to the snowy plateau, and won a long round of warm applause.
CWU students' excellent performance demonstrated their youthful energy, received unanimous accolades, and created the professional image of CWU students. The ACWF and NCFA hoped that CWU students could produce more excellent performances in the future.
