CWU Graduate Office Holds Seminar on Social Work

The Graduate Office of China Women's University (CWU) recently held a seminar on its social work graduate cultivation plan at the main campus' meeting room No.7.

CWU vice-president Liu Meng announced the university's decision on the work rules of the Graduate Education Committee, introduced its organizational structure, and clearly specified the responsibility of each department. Liu also revealed the members of the new working committee.  

Jiao Yang, director of the CWU's Graduate Office, gave a speech at the conference, introducing the background, foundation, principle, and the development phases of the talent cultivation plan. Relevant groups will work together to amend the plan after the meeting, and submit the revised edition to the working committee, Jiao added.

In line with the requirements of the cultivation project to serve the nation's special demands, the working committee reviewed the cultivation plan, and put forward suggestions for further refinements. 

The committee further clarified the objectives of social work graduate cultivation with CWU's characteristics, and, discussed the specifics of talent cultivation orientation. They said that the plan has shown distinctive features, clear goals and talent-training models, and, the curriculum was effectively design to fulfill the demands of the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. 

While fully affirming the effectiveness of the training plan, the committee members also noted that the teachers should further strengthen teaching practice, clarify the relations between different curriculum modules, and help foster special characteristics. They also hoped that the graduates could study hard, improve their professional skills, gain more chances of participating social practice, and become an application-oriented personnel in social work. 

Participants also included Yuan Wenying, president of the Chifeng Women's Federation; He Lianhui, director of the Division of Children at the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council; and, some directors from the CWU's International Education College, Quality Supervision Department, Scientific Research Department, Teaching Affairs Office, and the Recruitment and Employment Office.
