CWU Holds 2016 Scientific Research Conference
China Women's University (CWU) held a work conference on scientific research on July 5. All the school leaders, directors from the functional departments, and all the teaching staff participated in the event, which was presided over by CWU President Liu Liqun.
Vice-president Liu Meng reviewed CWU's latest achievements in scientific research, analyzed its basic situation, and pointed out its development direction for the future. She also introduced advanced systems and strategies in promoting the development of social sciences.
During the meeting, the principal investigators from the Finance Department, the School of Culture and Communication, and the School of Management shared their experiences, and gave several speeches on the compiling of research projects and applications.
Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council, fully affirmed CWU's achievements in 2016, and highlighted the equal significance of scientific research with the talent cultivation, social service, and, the cultural inheritance and innovation.
The relevant departments should clarify the objectives of scientific research, stress their focus points, continuously serve the economic society, and promote women's comprehensive development. They should also work together to study social issues, and improve the quality of talent cultivation, said Li.
Li pointed out that the scientific research innovation will provide a precious opportunity for the overall development of the university.
The CWU Council has paid great attention to the development of scientific research, and put forward several requirements to meet the demands of higher education, discipline construction, talent cultivation and teachers' development. As the first and the only state-owned women's university affiliated with the All-China Women's Federation, CWU will strive to improve its research strength and academic influence, and, become a top women's university in home and abroad, Liu added.
