CWU Organizes Workshop on Women's Oral History
The Women's Social Work Professional Committee of China Association for Social Work Education, along with the China Women's Library and the MSW Education Center of China Women's University (CWU), organized a workshop on women's oral history in Beijing on June 25-26. Professor Margaretta Jolly, from the University of Sussex, UK, was also invited to give a speech at the event.
During the two-day training, about 40 trainees from institutions of higher learning and other relevant organizations attended the forum and learned about women's oral history.
"Women's oral history" is a collection of historical information gathered from people who participated in past events and whose memories and perceptions of these events are preserved as an aural record for future generations.
The forum provides a good opportunity for trainees to understand women's oral history, whilst at the same time, it also inspires and promotes their studies and explorations in the related field.
In addition, participants said that the training not only helps them master women's oral history, but also offers them an opportunity to promote mutual communication and cooperation, and make progress with their counterparts together.
