Awards Ceremony Held for CWU's Party Members
China Women's University (CWU) held an awards ceremony to mark the upcoming 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on June 28. Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council, presided over a seminar, and made an opening speech.
Participants also included CWU President Liu Liqun; Song Shengju and Wang Jingxia, vice-presidents and members of the standing committee of the CWU's Party Committee; Wang Lian, vice-president and member of the CWU's Party Committee; and, all of the university's active Party members, retired Party member representatives, and Party activists.
Li introduced attendees to the core content of "Keeping in Mind the Top Priority of Party Members", a speech by Song Xiuyan, vice-president and first member of the Secretariat of the ACWF.
At the meeting, prizes were awarded to outstanding members from women's federations at various levels, outstanding Party members and workers, and, excellent counselors and advanced units and individuals during 2015. All Party members reviewed the oath to join the CPC, swearing to be self-disciplined.
Dai Yanjun, professor from the CPC Central Party School, made a speech named "Strengthening Party Self-Discipline, Studying Chinese President Xi Jinping's Important Instructions on Party Building". Focused on the study of the Party constitution and rules, Dai highlighted the significance, main tasks, and essential ways to enforce strict Party discipline.
The speakers stressed the importance of making full use of the exemplary role of the Party members. Li pointed out that the priority of the CWU's Party building work is to strengthen the ideological construction of CWU's general Party branch, create a service-oriented Party branch, supervise CPC members to be self-disciplined, and instill rules and good values into them.
Li hoped that all the Party members could consciously obey the arrangement of ACWF and CWU Council, and always think and act in conformity with the CPC Central Committee's policies and guidelines. Meanwhile, they should work hard to fulfill the CWU's 13th Five-Year Plan, ensure the effectiveness of the education campaign, and build CWU into a top women's university.
During the ceremony, the Ge Lan performing troupe recited a group of poems chanting about heroes during the Long March of the Chinese civil war.
