CWU Graduate Office Holds Seminar on Talent Cultivation
The Graduate Office of China Women's University (CWU) gathered directors from different schools and departments, and held a seminar on its social work graduate cultivation program.
The event aimed to carry out the decision on deepening graduate cultivation reform made at the 32th conference of the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, which was delivered by Liu Yandong, Chinese Vice-Premier and chairperson of the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education.
Catering for reform in Chinese graduate education and CWU's 13th Five-Year Plan, the organizers launched an extensive survey and study according to CWU's basic situation of the social work graduate cultivation.
In line with the basic requirements of talent cultivation projects to serve the nation's special demands, relevant directors put forward suggestions in further refining CWU's social work training program. They further clarified the objectives of social work graduate cultivation with CWU's characteristics, and, discussed the specifics of talent cultivation orientation, the so-called "dual-mentor system", in guiding students' dissertation; the arrangement of public basic courses and electives; the concrete requirements for courses make-up; and, the internship plan.
The meeting marked the beginning of the program for social work graduate cultivation, charting the future course for the talent cultivation plan, as well as curriculum reform.
