CWU Wraps Up 6th Int'l Civil Servants Capacity Building Training Program

China Women's University (CWU) held a closing ceremony on July 24 for the 6th International Civil Servants Capacity Building Training Program. 

Zhang Dan, vice-president of the China branch of the UN Association (UNA), and CWU Vice-president Liu Meng, both delivered speeches at the ceremony. Huang He, deputy director-general of the UNA, also participated in the event, which was presided over by Li Ying, dean of CWU's International Education College.

Zhang congratulated all of the graduate trainees, and sincerely thanked the leaders and teaching staff for hosting the training course. She fully affirmed CWU's capacity to prepare and organize the event, and hoped that the participants could enrich their minds, improve their professional skills, and devote themselves to the construction of each of their own countries. 

On behalf of the CWU, Liu sincerely thanked the UNA for providing such a chance, and hoped that the trainees could learn more about China and its traditional culture when they finished the training session, and combine the theoretical knowledge with their work and daily lives. Liu also encouraged more partnerships to be built among universities and organizations all over the world.  

Afterward, previous participants shared their experiences and achievements during the ceremony. The new graduates reviewed the contents of the curriculum from different perspectives, talked about their own feelings, and expressed their willingness to maintain world peace and promote common prosperity.

During the 12-day schedule, current and former officials from different international organizations and several ministries have gave 14 lectures on the basic situation of the UN, international systems operation, and personnel arrangement, as well as the basic condition of China in participating in multilateral diplomacy. 

The participants also visited some UN agencies in China and the Peace-Keeping Center of the Ministry of National Defense, and, held a graduation party.
The training course aimed to enhance women's involvement in international organizations, build female civil servants' capacity, and, promote gender equality and women's development across the world.
