CWU Students Win Multiple Prizes in 2016 National Bridge Championship

The 2016 National Bridge Championship for College Students came to a satisfying end at Shandong University on July 25. 

The competition was co-sponsored by the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) and its national bridge branch.

After 15 rounds of intense competition in three days, the CWU delegation came eighth in the women's team event of division A. Guo Jia and Hou Wenjing, representatives of CWU, won the championship in a pair match; and, another two CWU students finished seventh.

More than 600 students from 56 universities participated. The tournament was divided into division A and B, respectively, including mixed Open, women's team matches, and a pairs event.

CWU's bridge team was founded in 2015, and won third prize in the National Bridge Championship the same year. The event enhances exchange and cooperation between different schools, and provides a platform for the university students to show their potentials and competitive capacity, CWU's team leader said.
