CWU Organizes Ethics Training Event for Teachers
Some 40 teachers from China Women's University (CWU) recently visited Jinggangshan College of Red Culture Education to participate in the university's social practice activity.
The event was co-sponsored by the CWU's Trade Union, Publicity Department, and Teaching Affairs Office from August 23-27.
Zhao Yanping, executive vice-president of the Trade Union, said that Jinggangshan is the cradle of Chinese communist revolution, and the "spiritual origin of China's construction." She hoped that the trainees could receive a traditional revolutionary education, internalize the Jinggangshan spirit into a powerful spiritual motivation and conscious action, and strengthen the self-discipline in their daily lives.
At a teaching session on the theme of "Modern Values of Jinggangshan Battle and Spirit", teachers systematically studied the history and culture of Jinggangshan, and, reflected on its core concepts and revolutionary spirit.
Along the way, teachers visited the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Martyr Cemetery, and laid wreaths at the war memorial.
They also visited Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum, Huangyangjie Defense Battle Site, Xiaojing Red Army Hospital, and Longjiang Academy, the cradle of People's Liberation Army's military academies. They walked on the road which was used to deliver food to the Red Army, and recalled the memorable years in which the early Communists fought for the revolution in arduous environments.
After listening to the stories of revolutionary martyrs, many participants were moved by the former revolutionaries' noble spirits, tough volition, and firm belief in the motherland.
During the summary, trainees reviewed President Xi Jinping's speeches made at the grand gathering in Beijing marking the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The trainees said they would absorb and inherit the spirit of Jinggangshan, adhere to the right political direction, improve and consolidate teachers' ethics, and strive to bring advanced educational ideas into their overall work.
CWU attaches great importance to the teachers' moral construction and social practices, holding that the activity is an important move for carrying out core socialist values, said organizers.
