CWU Leaders Visit Student Volunteers in W China

During the summer vacation, several leaders from China Women's University (CWU) made a trip to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to visit CWU volunteers and staff working locally.

The leaders included Chen Lijun, deputy director of CWU's Student Affairs Office; Ni Ying, deputy director of the Security Department; and, Zhao Fengli, deputy secretary of the general Party branch of the School of Management.

The places they visited included Urumqi Municipality, Hami City, and Hotan Prefecture. They also visited organizers of an activity named "I've Got a Home Both in the City and the Village", which aims to advance studies in parent-child relationships, and foster Chinese teenagers' sense of national unity.

Local government officials praised the volunteers' efforts and achievements and said that they possessed solid professional knowledge, good mental capacity and were innovative. The local officials thanked CWU for its sympathy, generosity, and devotion to public welfare and the construction of China's western regions.

The CWU leaders also investigated the market demands, volunteers' working and living conditions, and learned about the national policies on voluntary service. 

The teachers and students have already gained rich experiences, improved their abilities, fulfilled their own values, and brought pride to the university, CWU's leaders said.
