China Women's University (CWU) held a farewell meeting recently for cadres who will leave to serve the west of China. Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council, and relevant teachers from CWU's North Campus, Organization Department and Personnel Division participated in the event, which was presided over by Chen Lijun, deputy director of the Student Affairs Office.
Catering for the demand of the Communist Youth League and the Educational Working Committee of Beijing, CWU recruited volunteers, selected several qualified individuals and submit the list to the Central Communist Youth League.
Sun Liuqing, counselor from the CWU's North Campus, was appointed to serve in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
At the ceremony, Sun thanked the university for providing such an opportunity and said that she would always uphold the school motto of "Virtus, Caritas, Scientia and Cultura", and the values of "self-esteem, self-confidence, self-support and self-improvement", as well as give continuous attention and support to the development of the CWU, and contribute to the construction of the country's border areas.
Li fully affirmed Sun's choice as a volunteer, and hoped that she could carry forward the charitable spirit, including dedication, love, mutual aid, and progress; combine her own interests with those of western development and the national interest; and, overcome difficulties and obtain a good reputation for the university.
