CWU Leaders Inspect School Labs
Wang Lian, vice-president of China Women's University (CWU), led directors from the functional departments to inspect the university's laboratories on September 13.
They examined the current management status of some 70 labs from 10 schools and departments, including the Art School, Child Development and Education School, the Computer Science Department, the Finance Department and the School of Culture and Communication.
Wang communicated with the lab administrators and academic advisers, and inquired about specific information regarding the opening hours, management style, safety and sanitation of the labs.
The school labs have a considerable scale and adequate experimental equipment, and have established a rich learning environment. Wang pointed out that experimental teaching is an important part of teaching practices, and also the keystone of talent cultivation and undergraduate education.
Touching on the shortcomings, Wang said that some labs are cluttered, some valuable equipment hasn't been utilized efficiently, and some schedules and management regulations haven't been pasted in the right place.
The university will spare no effort to further standardize laboratory management work, improve the utilization of laboratory resources, break the existing barriers in different departments, realize information and device sharing and finally promote the development of the school labs, Wang said.
