CWU Holds 2016 Awards Ceremony for Advanced Teachers
China Women's University (CWU) held an awards ceremony for faculty members on 10 September to mark the nation's 32nd Teachers' Day.
Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council, CWU vice-president Wang Lian and some 100 teachers from different schools and departments participated in the event, which was presided over by vice-president Song Shengju.
Wang read out the "Recognition Decision on the 2016 Outstanding Teachers and Educators in Beijing" and "Decisions on Advanced Individuals". On behalf of all the faculty and students, the school leaders presented certificates of honor to teachers commended at the event.
Wang Lianxin, associate professor at the Financial Department, delivered a speech. On behalf of the teaching staff, he shared his own experiences, expressed his decision to be a teacher with "strong faith, moral sentiment, solid knowledge and kindness", and hoped to make due contributions to CWU's talent cultivation.
Xue Jingjing, a teacher from the School of Culture and Communication, sincerely thanked the CWU leadership for holding the meeting and introduced Chinese traditional teaching ideas to those in attendance. "A teacher is someone who can propagate the doctrine, impart professional knowledge, and resolve doubts", Xue said.
Liu Wenrong, a counselor from the Law School, shared her decade-long experience on the campus, and said that she is dedicated to the CWU and hopes to work there until her retirement.
On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Li sincerely thanked all the staff who stuck to their posts. Li said teachers are the basis for education and the demonstrators of virtue. The development of students is the ultimate goal of education and a permanent proposition of schooling, he commented.
In order to further develop the work related to talent cultivation, Li hoped that all staff could come together to overcome difficulties, pay special attention to each duty, and strive to establish CWU as a first-class women's university in China.
