CWU Holds Symposium for Enlisted Students
China Women's University (CWU) held a farewell meeting for enlisted students on September 25. Members of the CWU's Defense Education Commission (DEC) and secretaries from different general Party branches attended the meeting, which was presided over by Han Yan, minister of the Armed Forces Department.
Attendees also included related middle-level cadres, counselors, enlisted students and some parent representatives.
Yang Xiaofeng, committee member of the DEC, read out the enlistment notices. Those school leaders in attendance presented souvenirs for the students.
On behalf of all enlisted students, a student representative from the School of Higher Vocational Education expressed her heartfelt thanks to CWU and promised to train hard, study hard, obey orders, keep the CWU school motto in mind, and grow up to be a qualified soldier as soon as possible.
Relevant leaders congratulated students on their personal ambition, fully affirmed their dedication to military service and emphasized the significance of national defense. They also expressed their hope that students would cherish opportunities for growth, adapt themselves to life in camp, train hard and strive to achieve in the army.
In order to improve conscription on campus, CWU has formulated several new measures and polices this year. Students also showed their enthusiasm for participation in the new national defense construction.
Through layers of screening, a total of 16 female students were selected as members of the army, navy, air force and other armed services.
