CWU Holds Work Conference on Data Collection
China Women's University (CWU) held a conference recently on the data collection work of undergraduate education.
Directors from different functional departments participated in the event, including the Administrative Office, Personnel Division, Teaching Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, Recruitment and Employment Office, Scientific Research and Management Office, International Cooperation Department, State-Owned Property Department and the Center for Modern Educational Technology.
CWU Vice-President Wang Lian presided over the meeting and outlined the background and significance of the data collection work. Wang pointed out that the data acquisition meets the demands of supervising the undergraduate teaching quality and constructing an inner quality guarantee system. At the same time, it's also a basis for the assessment and evaluation work of the university's undergraduate education.
Data gathering helps to maintain the university's overall situation, further regulate teaching management and lay a solid foundation for following evaluation work. Wang emphasized that all the directors present should take on their own responsibilities, work closely with each other and complete tasks to a high quality.
Chen Lan, deputy director of the Quality Supervision Department, introduced the specific work and matters which should be paid special attention.
The Ministry of Education has launched data collection work since October this year among 37 universities in Beijing. Some 7 types of data containing 674 items should be uploaded to a new online platform, according to the notice.
It's the first time the university has collected data systematically and used the national quality monitoring platform. The university expects to finish the collection work before December and will carry out it annually, officials said.
