CWU Wraps Up 2016 Power Girl Challenge
The 2016 Power Girl Challenge was held in China Women's University (CWU) on October 18. The event was co-sponsored by the Beijing Research Center for Women's Sports and Acmeway.com.
Directors of CWU's Student Affairs Office and Sports Department participated in the opening ceremony. Attendees also included teachers and students from Peking University and Renmin University of China.
The event aimed to promote the development of sports in Beijing's colleges, to enhance teachers' and students' scientific exercise awareness, to involve more people in physical exercise, to develop people's fitness habits and establish a new health standard for modern women.
The organizers combined the physical evaluation with a large variety of activities and effectively guided the participants to join the various activities. Some 300 students and 80 teachers from the CWU attended the competition, in which 10 players were rated as top 10 sports stars.
At the closing ceremony, CWU Vice-President Wang Lian expressed her heartfelt thanks to the sponsors and congratulated the prize winners. She pointed out that such activities are likely to increase teachers' and students' interests in sports and help to promote their physical and mental health. She hoped that more students could take part in physical exercise and consciously carry forward the spirit of sports.
