On behalf of CWU's leaders, Li Mingshun sincerely thanked all the teachers for their hard work and extended his greetings to the participants. Li said that the Long March was a military maneuver carried out by the Workers and Peasants' Red Army of the Communist Party of China (CPC) from 1934 to 1936.
Li emphasized that all teachers and students should closely focus on the "Four-Pronged Comprehensive Strategy", including building a moderately prosperous society, deepening reform, advancing the rule of law and strictly governing the CPC.
The staff members should also adhere to the right political direction, further carry forward the spirit of Long March, strive to break the development bottleneck and build CWU into a top-rank women's university.
The performances, including singing, dancing and drama, recalled the hardships that the Red Army endured during the period and showcased the CPC members' firm belief in communism, regardless of sacrifice or suffering. It also showcased the CPC's leading role in saving and revitalizing the nation in hard times.
The gala highlighted the spiritual character of CPC members and vividly interpreted the historical mission and the spirit of the Long March in a new area. It aimed to consolidate Party members' Marxist positions and ensure that the entire Party maintains a high degree of ideological and political consistency with the CPC Central Committee.
