CWU Editorial Department Holds Innovation Seminar

The editorial department of the Journal of China Women's University (CWU) held a seminar on academic innovation on December 14. CWU president Liu Liqun, Vice-President Liu Meng and Cai Feng, editor-in-chief of CWU Journal, participated in the event.

Some leaders from the National Social Science Journal of Higher Institutes, the Institute of Marriage and Family Law at China Law Society and Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) attended the gathering.

Liu Liqun warmly welcomed the participants and outlined the basic situation of CWU Journal. The university has paid great importance to the development of the journal and made some key achievements in recent years, Liu said.

The improvement of CWU's academic quality had a positive impact on the development of the university. Liu hoped that attendees could put forward constructive suggestions and increase CWU Journal's academic influence.

Touching on CWU's "Women and Law" program, Cai introduced the history of the project and highlighted its significance. The project has played an important role in forming people's values and views on traditional gender concepts, women's rights and interests, as well as women's social, political and economic status, Cai said.

During the event, participants launched a heated discussion on several questions, including how to improve the quality and quantity of the edits, how to plan special topics and how to innovate the content structure.

Those in attendance also exchanged their experiences on the aspects of revision, running the journal and program improvement, and greatly benefited from and were enlightened by the sharing experience.

Liu Meng sincerely thanked the attendees for their instructions and support and asked the staff to review and analyze experts' suggestions, set a new goal for the journal's progress and bring its development to a new level.

Participants also included experts and scholars from Peking University Library, the Assessment Center of CASS, Law School of Peking University and Law School of China University of Political Science and Law, as well as some chief editors from Xinhua Digest, the Journal of Peking University, the Journal of Beijing Normal University, the Journal of People's Public Security University of China and the Journal of North China Electric Power University.
